We are looking forward to the nuptials on the horizon and being able to celebrate this very special day with our closest friends and family members. Once the "I do's" are said, we are looking forward to some time for reflection and relaxation as we begin our new life together. "Somewhere tropical" is all I had to go on from my bride-to-be. Neither Teresa nor I have been to the Riviera Maya region of Mexico, but have heard nothing but great things about it--beautiful beaches and resorts, fun activities from snorkeling to visiting Mayan ruins, and more. We hope that you will help us in turning our dreams into reality.

Fishing in the Riviera Maya is a once in a life time experience. The topaz blue waters, the clear view of the unforgettable reefs below, the palm-lined shore in the distance, and of course, the fertile waters that are teeming with fish. The warm waters of the Riviera Maya are home to more than 35 large species of fish including Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Sailfish, Wahoo, Dorado (Mahi-Mahi), Tuna, Kingfish, Barracuda, Grouper, Snapper and many more. The Riviera Maya's 130 kilometers of coastline provide an excellent place for sports fishing, including big-game fishing on ships, sailboats or launches. Growing up with a passion for fishing off the Texas Gulf Coast, I would love to treat my bride to an exciting, memorable fishing experience down in Mexico. Hopefully with a chance to have our catch freshly prepared for Dinner that very evening!

The Mayan Riviera is home to perhaps the finest beaches in the world - sparkling white sand glossed over by the crystal clear blue waters of the Caribbean Sea. Just beneath the surface of this magnificent scene lies an whole new world. We would love to go snorkeling one of the days of our trip to see the world's second largest barrier reef. We could be thrilled as we see manta rays gliding by, excited as we are enveloped by a school of brightly colored tropical fish, and awe-struck as we see nature's magnificent community at work in perfect harmony. If we're lucky, we could see sea turtles, moray eels, spotted eagle rays, and other amazing creatures. Oh what adventure awaits on this exciting excursion!

Nobody knows for sure how many Mayan ruin sites are out there. The majority of them are still under heavy brush and have yet to be excavated. However the Yucatan Peninsula is host to a number of spectacular sites and some are within driving range if you are staying anywhere along the Mayan Riviera. This section, unlike other pages in this site dedicated to Mayan Archeology divides the ruin sites into two classifications. The first class is for vacationers who would like to explore Mayan ruins while on their vacation.
